Dressing up the Adeliene Dress

We have sold a lot of Adeliene dresses over the past couple of months. It is a fun dress, but it is also pretty casual. The actual dress fabric is a soft, comfy t-shirt type of fabric. The silk rosettes help dress it up, but it is still more of a casual dress than a "dressy" dress. I thought I would show you all some photos of one way to dress it up and accessories it a bit if you want to wear it for more of a formal occassion. Here it is in our newest color-way Lilac on Black! I just did this as a custom order for one of our incredibly sweet customer's named Maureen, and loved it so much have decided to make it our newest option! By adding a satin belt and clipping on a rosette clip it makes it so much dressier. I think that is one of the things I like so much about the Adeliene dress. It is a fun, simple dress when worn as is, but it can also be alot of fun to accessorize it! We have a bride who is having her bridesmaids wear the Pebble and Slate on Asphalt version of this with worn leather belts! I cannot wait to see pictures of that! I love adding belts!

And here is it plain. Still cute and comfy!

Also, we have our new favorite tutu, The Audrey Hepburn, about to debut but are waiting to take photos of it.

Sprucing up our Master Bath

Okay, so first let me preface this by saying this was not a bathroom remodel. This was just a paint job and some decorating. If this were my dream house, I would design something completely different. It would include an antique dresser that I would use to put the sink in. The sink would have either a beautiful oil-rubbed bronze faucet or an antique faucet and I would most definitely have a cast-iron tub. I love our home and am so thankful for it, but it doesn't always reflect my true taste. It ended up a bit more shabby chic than I was going for, but oh well. We simply added some paint and accessories to spruce it up a bit. Without a big overhaul, there isn't much you can do with all of the lovely builder basics =(, but it was still fun to try to make it a bit prettier. Pretty much it was just paint on the walls (I LOVE the color and will definitely use it again) and cabinets and then we bought the mirror at an antique mall, a few $6 jars from TJMaxx, and a couple of new towels at Target and then everything else we already had. The flowers are from the Colonial Williamsburg Farmer's Market www.vaflowerfarm.com

Here is a finished shot:

Here are a couple before - this was after the big huge sheet of mirror was taken down.

Little helper Lillie!

And here are a bunch more "after" shots:

I plan on switching the wedding photo with a black silhouette of Lillie in an ivory frame, but didn't have time to finish her silhouette this weekend.
Here are some pictures of our master bedroom that go with the bathroom. The wall color looks quite different in the photos - it is a charcoal color that is a few shades darker than the bathroom.

I keep most of my necklaces on my Dear Lillie dress form.

I think that's enough photos for one day! Haha!

It is simple:

2) Mention this giveaway with a link on your Facebook page: 1 Entry (in order for it to count as an entry, please write "Facebook"as its own comment in the comment section)

3) Become a follower - 2 Entries (in order for it to count as an entry, please write "follower" as its own comment in the comment section, and make sure to do it two times so it will count as two extra entries for you, or if you are already a follower, make sure to write "follower" also as a comment two times)

4) Mention this giveaway on your own blog and include a photo of one of our items and link to our giveaway, - 2 Entries (Again for this to count make sure to write "blog" two different times as comments.)

In case you are wondering why in the world you have to comment each time you blog or if you become a follower, it is because we use the number of comments to plug into the random number generator and that is how we know what number to plug in and who matches up with it - hope that makes sense.

Also, if you have a blocked blogger profile please leave your e-mail address when you enter so that we can contact you. For everyone with an open profile or who we know, then you don't need to worry about that part.

Good luck to you all and we will announce the winner on May 31st!

Good afternoon, everyone! I want to share with you all some absolutely beautiful photographs taken by Jenni Roseland of Rosie J. Photography of her darling daughter, Lola. I saw a few of these on her blog and couldn't wait for her to send us some. They are just such beautiful photographs. I think the first one is my favorite, but I can't decide. They are all so lovely!

First, just want to remind everyone there are only a few days left to enter out big giveaway for a $100 gift certificate to Dear Lillie! Either scroll down several posts or click here to read about it and enter.

And now, I want to share with you all one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE blogs: Joyfolie (formerly known as Mia Joie)! I have gotten to know Jessica over the past few months and her work is incredible. I was first introduced to her Etsy shop and then blog through one of our Etsy customers last fall. I completely fell in love with her work. She makes the most beautiful baby and children's shoes you have ever seen! I have gotten Lillie a pair of her Gretel boots and a pair of bloom shoes as well as several hair clips! I would have gotten her a pair of everything but they are so hard to snag! Her items sell out within minutes of her putting them up for sale. She is about to launch a new website and to say that I can hardly wait would be a major understatement. Along with having beautiful items, she has the most gorgeous blog. She is a fabulous photographer and her writing is an absolute pleasure to read. Most blogs I just scan and admire the pictures, but hers I always read because the writing is always so touching (she used to be a college writing professor before starting Joyfolie). I am fowarning you - once you start reading it you won't be able to stop!

She is currently hosting an aweseome giveaway on her blog right now so head on over to check it out and enter!

Here is some of her work (I used a few of her older photos that are my favorites which is why some of them have her old Mia Joie logo on them). Have you ever seen such beautiful things?

And this is one of my favorite pics! I am dying to get the little cropped jacket and the boots for Lillie as soon as they become available!
